Leadership
Although healthcare leaders are increasingly recognizing environmental sustainability as critical to health and health equity, there are persistent myths that are preventing more widespread action. Examples of these myths include inability to afford sustainability, lack of expertise, busy staff, political risk—and "we can't really make much of a difference."
This session will focus on debunking these myths. Through a combination of research and case studies, presenters will demonstrate generalizable approaches to find ROI on sustainability investments, attract new investments to support sustainability, engage staff who are excited to support this work, successfully navigate a wide variety of political climates and create meaningful health impacts in communities and beyond.
