Col Andrew Ray Adamich is Chief, Medical Readiness Division National Guard Bureau Office of the Surgeon General, Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. In this capacity Col Adamich is responsible for manpower & force structure, force offering & posturing, health & training analytics, equipment logistics, exercises and ultimately combat readiness of 5800 medics, serving the combatant commanders and Governors of 54 states and U.S. territories, coordinated through the National Guard Bureau.
Awarded the Air Force Health Professions Scholarship while attending Pacific University College of Optometry with a direct commission on Oct. 7, 1999. Col. Adamich graduated with distinction, earning a Doctor of Optometry degree. He entered active-duty service from 2002-2007, and was assigned to Little Rock AFB, Arkansas and Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. He joined the Alaska National Guard as Chief of Optometry from 2009-2019. Col Adamich served as the Branch Chief, Innovative Readiness Training Program Joint Base Andrews Maryland from 2019-2022. Prior to his current position, the Colonel was Commander at the 176 Medical Group, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER), Alaska from 2023-2025.
While assigned to the Air National Guard Readiness Center, he supported the ANG Crisis Action Team Support During National Guard COVID-19 Response, Civil Unrest, and Election Support in 2020. His strategic partnership engagements include global health engagements in Bolivia, Nepal, and Mongolia, in addition to his national readiness training engagements serving 106 communities from 33 U.S. states and territories.
