Rob Allen is president and CEO of Intermountain Health. He has served in executive leadership roles at Intermountain for 27 years of his 30+ year health leadership career. He is a nationally recognized leader in advancing value-based care and has multiple achievements around advancing rural health, telehealth, affordability and continuous improvement.
Prior to beginning his role as president and CEO in November 2022, Allen served as chief operating officer for five years. He was named one of the top 25 COOs in healthcare by Modern Healthcare. He has also held CEO roles at hospitals and health systems in Wyoming, New Jersey and Massachusetts. Allen earned an MBA from Utah State University in Logan, Utah, and a BS in operations management from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He was also awarded an honorary Doctor of Science degree by Rocky Vista University.
Allen’s love of healthcare began during his childhood as he was raised on a farm in rural Wyoming, where his mother served as a nurse and later as administrator at Star Valley Hospital. Allen and his wife, Becky, have three children and five grandchildren.
