Matthew Schneider, MD serves as the Vice Chair of Clinical Services of the Department of Psychiatry at Montefiore Medical Center. He received his BA from Cornell University and completed his medical school training at SUNY - Health Science Center at Brooklyn. He is a clinical psychiatrist who has worked in hospital settings for over 25 years. Dr. Schneider's clinical expertise includes the delivery of psychiatric services to large populations across the spectrum of care and to the development and operationalization of systems to deliver that care, including the adoption, implementation and optimization of the use of the ‘SAFE-T’ as the suicide assessment tool for the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Montefiore Medical Center, and participation in the development and operationalization of suicide screening as part of clinical workflows throughout Montefiore Medical Center, as part of the Behavioral Health Task Force.
