As the Corporate Sustainability Director for the University of Pennsylvania Health System/Penn Medicine, Greg is responsible for developing and implementing the system-wide carbon reduction strategy. This includes establishing the carbon emissions baseline and creating a Climate and Sustainability Action Plan to meet the White House/Health and Human Services Pledge – reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 and net zero emissions by 2042. The action plan addresses energy efficiency, waste management, anesthetic and other gases, commuting and fleet vehicles, food and nutrition and many others.
Prior to joining Penn Medicine, Greg was a Principal at Booz Allen Hamilton’s Environmental Management Practice in support of EPA, DoD and other Federal clients as well as several pharmaceutical contracts. As an independent consultant, he also provided project management support for a commercial real estate development in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Greg holds as Master in Public Administration from the University of Pennsylvania, Fels Center. He graduated from Hobart College where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and English.
