Adam Gobin was born in Trinidad and Tobago and attended high school in Mexico City. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a double major in Biology and Spanish in 2006. He then pursued a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) degree at the University of Georgia and graduated in 2008. Adam joined The Emory Clinic’s Management Development Program (MDP) after getting his MPH and spent 7 years in leadership roles in The Emory Clinic’s Patient Financial Services Department.
He pursued an MBA with an IT concentration at Georgia Tech while working at Emory and then joined athenahealth where he focused 3.5 years of his career dedicated to healthcare IT, patient engagement, platform solution design (FHIR, API, and HL7), and revenue cycle for athenahealth’s largest clients – Adventist, Community Health Systems, and Christus Physician Group.
He joined Wellstar Health System in January 2020 as the Assistant Vice President of Wellstar Medical Group’s business office ($1B in annual net revenue). He has since been promoted to Assistant Vice President of Hospital Billing ($6B in annual net revenue) with oversight over billing, revenue management, accounts receivable, payment posting, and contract management/payment variances.
Adam served as President of the Geogia Chapter for HFMA (Healthcare Financial Management Association) in 2024, and Georgia HFMA oversees over 5,000 members across the state of Georgia. He is a past American Hospital Association (AHA) Fellow as well, having graduated from the AHA program in the summer of 2023.
He currently lives with his family in Marietta, Georgia just miles away from the Mercedes Benz stadium because of his love for soccer and Atlanta United. When he is not watching soccer and cooking, he’s hiking or hanging out with his family of seven (partner, 3 kids, and 3 dogs).
