David Oliphant has worked for Cleveland Clinic for over a decade and has held numerous operations roles across the organization. David currently serves as the Executive Director of Hospital Operations for Cleveland Clinic’s East Submarket which encompasses five hospitals and nearly 1,000 registered beds. In addition to his submarket leadership role, David oversees operations at Hillcrest and Mentor Hospital. Hillcrest is a 500 bed hospital with a level II Adult Trauma Center located in Mayfield Heights, OH and Mentor Hospital is a 34 bed hospital located in Mentor, OH.
Prior to his current role, David served as the Chief Operating Officer for Cleveland Clinic Marymount Hospital. In this role, David was responsible for planning and overseeing operations for Marymount, which includes a 269-registered bed acute care hospital, a medical office building and an off-site ambulatory surgery center. David has also served as the Head of Clinical Operations for Cleveland Clinic London (CCL). In this role, he provided strategic, operational and financial leadership for CCL’s Clinical Institutes and service lines across the hospital and outpatient settings, including all surgical and medical specialties, rehabilitation services, pathology, radiology and point of care testing. The Clinical Operations team was comprised of over 300 physicians and advanced practice providers, 150 allied health professionals and 75 administrative professionals.
David is an alum of the Cleveland Clinic Administrative Fellowship and completed his MHSA degree at the University of Michigan School of Public Health.
