Hillary Jalon is Vice President, Quality Management at NYC Health + Hospitals, with responsibility for overseeing core quality functions, including quality assurance, performance improvement, accreditation, patient safety, and quality measures reporting. She also leads a comprehensive strategy for continuous quality improvement across NYC Health + Hospitals, including growing a Quality Academy, Clinical Leadership Fellowship, Healthcare Administration Scholars Program, and creating new programs which foster a culture of excellence and equity in the System’s services. Hillary brings a wealth of experience in quality improvement from her previous roles at NYC Health + Hospitals/Community Care, as director of quality improvement at the United Hospital Fund (UHF) through her work with the Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA), and earlier in her career at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. She has helped design and manage initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes, reduce patient readmissions and infections, and she has trained countless leaders in hospital quality. Hillary serves as an Advisory Board member and is on the faculty for the GNYHA/UHF Clinical Quality Fellowship Program and is also a member of the Joint Commission’s Health System’s Corporate Liaisons. Hillary is an Associate Professor at New York University’s Wagner School of Health Policy and Management where she teaches the Continuous Quality Improvement course, challenging and mentoring students to think critically and creatively about improving health care systems.
