Dr. Samantha Crandall is a PhD prepared nurse with 10 years of experience in patient safety. She currently serves as the Director of Patient Safety at Suburban Hospital, a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine. She leads event management, communication resolution program (CRP), and high reliability organizing. Before joining Suburban Hospital, Dr. Crandall held the positions of Patient Safety Officer/Risk Manager at San Ramon Regional Medical Center and System Patient Safety Specialist at Sharp HealthCare. Within these roles she mentored leaders in patient safety, high reliability science, performance improvement, change management, Just Culture and teaming. She holds certifications in both healthcare quality (CPHQ) and patient safety (CPPS). Dr. Crandall is an alumnus of the University of San Diego where she completed her PhD in Nursing Research and Master's degree in Nurse Leadership.
