Dr. Dickerson is VHC Health's Senior Vice President, Hospital Operations and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
In this role, she serves as a transformational leader to the Hospital’s over 1,100 nurses and the many certified technicians, pharmacists, laboratory, radiology, physical therapy, and occupational therapy staff she oversees. Her work directly influences VHC Health’s strategic direction and ensures that patient care service goals and initiatives are aligned to advance organizational success. Operational achievements include leading the effort to become a Level II Trauma Center in 2023 as well as the successful opening of a $400M Outpatient Pavilion and expanding services and improving access in outpatient physical rehab, imaging center, laboratory, and pharmacy. As CNO, she oversees all nursing operations for inpatient and outpatient services and most recently led a successful third Magnet redesignation, earning four exemplars for excellence in nursing. In 2023, she completed the journey to becoming one of only 227 practice transition accreditation program (PTAP) accredited nurse residency programs in the United States.
With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Dickerson has proven herself as a leader in the healthcare industry. Her journey of professional growth, from a registered nurse to her current role, is a testament to her dedication and expertise. She earned a Doctorate in Nursing Practice in Executive Leadership from Baylor University, an MSN from Gardner Webb University in Boiling Springs, NC, and a BSN from Winston-Salem State University in Winston-Salem, NC. Her contributions have been recognized by the American College of Healthcare Executives, where she is a Fellow, and she was named a Washington Business Journal’s 2023 Women Who Mean Business.
