Shari Silverman, MPT, OCS, FACHE, PMP, is the Chief, Strategic Integration Group, Defense Health Agency (DHA), Defense Health Headquarters. She facilitates the development of the DHA’s 5-year Strategic Plan and monitors system performance of clinic and business operations at more than 700 global military medical and dental treatment facilities for the Department of Defense (DoD). Within her portfolio, she oversees strategy management, foresight, governance and continuous process improvement. In addition, she supports the Ready Reliable Care Strategic Initiative, which is the Military Health System’s High Reliability Organization (HRO) journey to improve system operations, drive innovative solutions and cultivate a culture of safety for the DoD’s 9.5 million beneficiaries. Prior to her current position, Silverman served 30 years in the United States Air Force in various clinical and leadership roles culminating as a Medical Center Director and DHA Chief of Staff. Across her career, she gained a reputation for fostering HROs, cultivating innovative and engaged employees and advancing organizational performance and effectiveness. Silverman is a board-certified orthopedic physical therapist (emeritus), an American College of Healthcare Executives fellow, a certified project management professional, and actively serves as an NCHE mentorship committee member.
