Kristen Pace is the Director of Nursing for John Muir Health’s Psychiatric Hospital, one of John Muir’s three non-profit acute care hospitals within the San Francisco Bay Area. She is a highly accomplished and dedicated professional who has devoted her career to the field of mental health, proven during 19+ years of experience in emergency, ambulatory mental health, partial hospitalization and acute psychiatric services.
Kristen holds licenses as a Registered Nurse and Public Health Nurse, and is board certified for Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing, with a Master of Science in Nursing Leadership and Management.
Prior to her role as Director of Nursing, Kristen has held positions of Nurse Manager, and Lead Registered Nurse within John Muir’s Psychiatric Hospital. She has also served in roles of Nursing Supervisor within a for-profit Acute Psychiatric Hospital, Nurse Manager and Mental Health Program Manager for a not-for-profit mental health clinic focused on treatment of psychiatric illnesses that impact individuals who have autism and other co-occurring developmental disabilities, as an Emergency Medical Technician in San Francisco and San Mateo Counties, and within the Long Beach Unified School District providing therapeutic behavioral services to students with autism within the educational system.
As a leader with a wealth of experience in psychiatric nursing and the field of mental health, Kristen is committed to helping transform the perception of psychiatric care and ensuring equality of mental and physical health care. As a true advocate for mental health, she leads teams in providing effective evidence-based care that promotes a holistic approach, to help patients achieve improved overall well-being and a higher quality of life, while making a significant impact in destigmatizing mental health care.
