Fareen Fazal is a recognized global HR Executive with more than 20 years of domestic and international experience in both healthcare and oilfield services industries. Fareen joined Memorial Hermann in 2016 and currently serves as Vice President of Human Resources Business Partners for Memorial Hermann Health System. She has a reputation as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on topics related to human capital, strategic workforce planning, aligning business goals and people strategies, and the ever-changing talent landscape.
Prior to joining Memorial Hermann, Fareen worked at Halliburton and Baker Hughes, leading HR initiatives and strategic workforce planning as well as global talent management, development and training efforts.. Fareen’s dynamic portfolio of experience includes partnering with leaders on start-up operations in high-risk locations, union contract negotiations, assimilating newly acquired businesses into existing operations, and reinventing established businesses to meet the changing needs of their workforce and operations. In particular, her time in the Middle East focused on developing local talent to reduce the use of expat assignments and reduce the total labor cost.
Fareen holds a Master of Business Administration with a focus on HR Management and is a certified Professional in Human Resources by the Society of HR Management. She a recent graduate of the Center for Houston’s Future Business and Civic Leadership Forum, works closely with the Junior Achievement on their 3DE and BizTown initiatives, is a supporter of The ALS Association and a volunteer for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. She is part of the Aga Khan Shia Ismaili community and participates in causes related to the betterment of society, building bridges of peace and understanding, and sharing one’s time and talents to improve the quality of life of the community.
