Kyle Underwood is a dedicated Project Manager III in the Project Management Office at the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health in Las Vegas, Nevada. In this role, he plays a pivotal part in supporting clinical operations, strategy, and business development, contributing to key initiatives that drive growth for the Cleveland Clinic both locally in Nevada and at the enterprise level.
Kyle earned his Bachelor of Science in Public Health, complemented by a minor in Business, from the University of California, San Diego. During his undergraduate studies, he gained practical experience as an administrative intern at a community health system in San Diego, where he honed his skills in strategy, operations, and human resources. Additionally, he was instrumental in the early stages of a healthcare startup, Patient Partner, which evolved into a digital, patient-driven community and telehealth platform, further fueling his passion for innovative healthcare solutions.
He continued his education with a Master of Health Administration from the University of Southern California, where he completed a rigorous administrative residency at Providence Health. There, he worked on significant projects involving value-based contracting and network development, gaining insights into the complexities of healthcare management. Following graduation, Kyle completed a one-year project-based Administrative Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic, where he further refined his project management and strategic planning skills.
Prior to his current role in Las Vegas, Kyle served as a Program Manager in the Head and Neck Institute at the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, where he successfully led initiatives aimed at improving patient care and surgical operational efficiency.
Kyle’s passion for healthcare is deeply personal, rooted in his experiences as a child navigating the healthcare system. This perspective drives his commitment to ensuring that patient voices are central to healthcare decision-making. He is actively involved in patient advocacy, having recently represented rare disease patients on Capitol Hill with the Rare Disease Legislative Advocates (RDLA). Additionally, he serves as Vice President for Project Alive and Co-Chair of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) of Nevada, where he champions initiatives that promote equitable healthcare access and representation.
Kyle has been invited to speak on various national platforms, including podcasts, panels, and blogs, where he shares valuable insights on mentorship, strategic planning, and effective leadership styles within health systems. His ability to engage and inspire others has made him a sought-after voice in the healthcare community.
Outside of his professional commitments, Kyle is an avid explorer who loves trying new cuisines and traveling to exotic tropical destinations. He values quality time with family and friends, often seeking out new experiences that create lasting memories. With a blend of passion, expertise, and a strong commitment to patient advocacy, Kyle continues to make significant contributions to the healthcare field.
