Asha Rodriguez is the facility executive and leader of Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord, N.C., a 457 bed, not-for-profit tertiary regional hospital, and part of Advocate Health. At Atrium Health Cabarrus, more than 4,300 hospital employees provide services through an extensive inpatient and outpatient network, including Jeff Gordon Children's Center (part of Levine’s Children’s Hospital), Hayes Family Center, and Batte Cancer Center (part of Atrium Health’s Levine Cancer Institute), two free standing emergency departments and a joint ventured ambulatory surgery center. This network of care is supported through extensive collaboration with the Cabarrus Health Care Foundation and the Cabarrus College of Health Sciences.
Asha has diverse and progressive professional experience, having worked in education as well as both non-profit and for-profit managed hospitals and health systems. She leads with a disciplined approach to operations, budget control, strategic growth, and expansion of services. Prior to her current role, Asha served as Vice President of Operations at Atrium Health Cabarrus. Asha has also held additional leadership roles at CHRISTUS Health, a not-for-profit multi-state and international health system. There, she served as President of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Westover Hills Hospital, Administrator of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Medical Center Hospital, and as an Assistant Administrator for both the Medical Center campus and Westover Hills campus. Before her work in healthcare, she completed a teaching commitment with Teach for America in the District of Columbia public school system. Asha credits her time in education as one of the most rewarding and transformative experiences in her career.
Asha has received numerous awards and recognition for her contributions to healthcare and her community service. At Advocate Health, Asha has received the enterprise’s Health’s Diversity Champion Award, Community Champion Award and Executive Sponsor of the Year awards. For her community efforts, she has received Cabarrus Healthcare Foundation’s COVID-19 Community Recognition Award and Cabarrus County’s Keeper of the Dream Lifetime Achievement Award. Asha has also received national recognition as a Tomorrow’s Leader from the Catholic Health Association and Executive Sponsor of the Year by Global Employee Resource Group.
Asha graduated from Florida A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Management and from George Mason University with a Master of Business Administration. She is active in the American College of Healthcare Executives and the National Association of Health Services Executives. Additionally, she serves on the Foundation For The Carolinas Governing Board and VI Good Food – an organization focused on food systems change in the United States Virgin Islands. She is an appointed member of the Cabarrus Health Alliance’s Board of Commissioners, Cabarrus County’s health department. Asha was also a Texas Hospital Association Leadership Fellow and served as an at-large delegate to the American Hospital Association’s Regional Policy Board 3. One of her most fulfilling service opportunities is being an executive sponsor to Atrium Health’s largest system resource affinity group, A2WeXcel, which is dedicated to supporting more than 2,400 African American women.
