Asha Rodriguez is the facility executive of Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord, N.C., a 457 bed, not for profit tertiary regional hospital and part of Atrium Health. At Atrium Health Cabarrus, more than 4,300 hospital employees provide services through an extensive inpatient and outpatient network, including Jeff Gordon Children's Center part of Levine’s Children’s Hospital, Hayes Family Center and Batte Cancer Center, part of Atrium Health’s Levine Cancer Institute.
Asha has diverse and progressive professional experience, having worked in both non-profit and for-profit managed hospitals and health systems, as well as in education. She leads with a disciplined approach to operations, budget control, strategic growth and expansion of services. Prior to her current role, Asha served as Vice President of Operations at Atrium Health Cabarrus. Asha has also held several roles for CHRISTUS Health, a not-for-profit multi-state and international health system. There she served as President of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Westover Hills Hospital, Administrator of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Medical Center Hospital and as an Assistant Administrator for both the Medical Center campus and Westover Hills campus. Before her work in healthcare, she completed a teaching commitment with Teach for America in the District of Columbia Public School system. Asha credits her time in education as one of the most rewarding and transformative experiences in her career.
In June of 2023, Asha received Advocate Health’s annual Diversity Champion Award for her efforts in diversity, equity and inclusion locally and nationally. She also received the COVID-19 Community Recognition Award from the Cabarrus Healthcare Foundation in honor of her leadership during the COVID pandemic. She has been recognized as a Tomorrow’s Leader from the Catholic Health Association, as a Woman on the Rise from San Antonio Woman magazine for her contributions to healthcare and her commitment to advancing the field and as Atrium Health’s Executive Sponsor of the Year.
Asha graduated from Florida A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Management and from George Mason University with a Master of Business Administration. She is active in the American College of Healthcare Executives and the National Association of Health Services Executives. Asha was also a Texas Hospital Association Leadership Fellow and currently serves as an at-large delegate to the American Hospital Association’s Regional Policy Board 3. Additionally, she serves on Florida A&M University’s Division of Health Care Management’s Undergraduate Advisory Board, NAHSE NC’s Senior Advisory Board and Cooperative Christian Ministry’s Board – a local crisis agency. As an appointed member of the Cabarrus Health Alliance’s Board of Commissioners, Cabarrus county’s health department, her focus is on addressing access to care and social determinants of health for the most vulnerable citizens. One of her most fulfilling service opportunities is being an executive sponsor to Atrium Health’s largest system resource affinity group, A2WeXcel dedicated to supporting more than 2,000 African American women.
Asha grew up in Christiansted, St. Croix in the USVI and lives in Concord, NC. She enjoys traveling across the world, cooking West Indian cuisine and listening to live music with her daughter.
