Sandra Murdock, Dr.P.H., FACHE, has extensive background in senior executive leadership and operations at some of the preeminent academic healthcare institutions in the nation, while also maintaining an active role in teaching and scholarship. She is currently the Executive in Residence, prior Interim Program Director, and tenured Associate Professor in the Master’s in Health Care Administration Program at Texas Woman’s University. Sandra was the President, and is now the Past President, of the ACHE-South East Texas Chapter, one of the largest chapters in the nation. She has held numerous executive roles during the past thirty years at organizations including Houston Methodist; University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, University of Texas Medical Branch; Nevada Cancer Institute in Las Vegas; and the Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University in Atlanta. She has also been an Examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award since 2012. She teaches various graduate management and leadership courses including Operations Management, Service Line Organization, Capstone, Strategic Planning, Alternative Healthcare and Delivery Systems and is the lead faculty of the Global Health MHA Study Abroad, while mentoring careerists and graduate students. Her research interests are strategic operations, innovation, leadership, and the impact of disruptive change.
