AHA
Rick Pollack is the president and CEO of the American Hospital Association (AHA), the nation’s largest hospital and health care system organization with nearly 5,000 member hospitals, health systems, and other providers of care.
Leading the AHA since 2015 after more than 20 years as its executive vice president for advocacy and public policy, Rick has shaped and grown one of the nation's most effective advocacy groups. The AHA has a grassroots network in every congressional district and its political action committee, AHAPAC, is one of the largest in health care.
During COVID-19 pandemic, Rick successfully built a coalition including the American Medical Association, the American Nurses Association, and others to obtain the financial resources and regulatory flexibility to keep hospitals open to provide care during the most challenging public health crisis of our time.
Prior to joining the AHA, Rick worked for Rep. David Obey and the American Nurses Association. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and communications and a master’s in public administration. A proud father and grandfather, Rick and his wife Diane live in Virginia.
