Tom Gualtieri-Reed, MBA is a partner with Spragens & Gualtieri-Reed, joining the firm in 2013. Tom has over 30 years of health care management and consulting experience working with hospitals, health systems, provider practices and clinics, and within payer organizations. Tom’s expertise is in strategic and business planning, clinical and research program development and implementation, team function, and leadership development. He has a specific interest in addressing the needs of the aging population and those with serious illness, including children and adults. Tom works nationally with palliative care and other care models focused on addressing the needs of these complex, high-need populations. Tom is a consultant to national organizations such as the Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) where he serves as faculty at CAPC conferences and is an author of CAPC’s business and program development tools and resources. Tom has led numerous consulting projects for the design and implementation of palliative care, serious illness, and complex care programs across the continuum, including in hospital, clinic, and home-based settings. Prior to working as a consultant, Tom held business and leadership positions at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, Duke University Health System, Kaiser Permanente of North Carolina and the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.
Tom earned his MBA from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business and his BA in Economics from the College of the Holy Cross.
