Financial & Operational Models
In M&A scenarios, executive talent and culture misalignment is the most frequent cause of underperformance, causing disruption that can leach value. Nowhere is this idea more relevant than in healthcare today, where organizations are shaping their futures—establishing competitive advantage and furthering their missions—through strategic mergers, acquisitions and other creative partnerships. The risks are many, especially related to integrating new leadership talent and aligning the cultures of the M&A partners. This session presents a case study based on the recent acquisitions and integrations of Orlando Health’s regional growth in the Southeast U.S. and UCI Health’s expansion into community hospitals in the Southwest.
Panelists from UCI Health and Orlando Health will reflect upon pre- and post-close challenges and strategies, identify lessons learned, and explore success factors in the areas of managing risk, developing executives, integrating culture and leadership, and accelerating the speed and impact of integration. The panel will be moderated by their integration partner, WittKieffer. Time will be dedicated to audience Q&A with the key participants in the M&A integration.
