Intentional Leadership
In today’s healthcare environment—marked by relentless disruption, workforce strain and rising cynicism—hope is not a luxury; it is a leadership imperative. New research shows that hope is the No. 1 thing people need from their leaders, outranking trust, compassion and stability combined. This session explores the science of hope and equips healthcare leaders with practical tools to create pockets of hope for their teams. Through compelling stories, actionable strategies and research-based insights, participants will learn how to reframe adversity, foster psychological safety and create a clear path forward for those they lead.
By the end of this session, you will be able to implement practical communication and behavior strategies that restore hope and resilience in high-stress settings and apply the concept of “holding environments” to create stability and reduce anxiety during periods of change. Speakers will discuss why hope outranks trust, compassion and stability; how to understand hope's organizational and psychological significance; and why generational shifts are shaping the hope landscape. They also will cover what happens when people feel powerless, small wins and micro-momentum strategies, and how to lead without absorbing chaos. You will learn why vision is not enough and how to tie vision to identity, mission and values, as well as scripts and phrases that foster hope and belief to use during uncertainty.
