Current Trends & Strategy
PAs and APRNs, often collectively known as advanced practice providers (APPs), now make up more than 40% of the provider workforce, with projections predicting more than 50% in the next 10 years. In order to maximize clinical, operational and financial health system success, leaders will need to optimize their PA and APRN workforce to their fullest extent, training and capabilities. With the continued focus on value-based care and current health system challenges, it is imperative that health system leaders be actively advocating for positive PA and APRN legislation and regulatory policy change.
