Career Resources
Career moves at the executive level are unlike any other in a healthcare leader's profession. Whether as a professional administrator, a clinician turned administrative leader or an academic turned leader, senior executive leaders face both challenges and opportunities. Often, however, healthcare leaders are not adequately prepared for the changes that come with the promotion, which is why it is crucial to provide them with a no-nonsense understanding of what to expect when they transition to senior administrative leadership for the first time.
In this panel discussion, three experts will share their perspectives, knowledge and wisdom on leveling up to senior executives. Elements of the discussion will include: lessons learned on what to do well when entering these roles, common pitfalls to avoid, structuring the first few months and year on the job, leveraging or rebuilding a leadership team, leading up as a senior executive, moving from peer to boss, influencing the narrative about yourself, and entering a new organization at a senior executive level. There will be ample time for Q&A with session attendees.
