Diversity & Inclusion
If health is now more than healthcare, how does that change the role of healthcare leaders? It will take payers, providers and public health working together to move the needle on health equity. Healthcare leaders must decide how, where and when to invest in social determinants of health (SDOH) programs and create community partnerships that foster equity. This paradigm shift from community benefit spending to community investing requires a different way of thinking.
This session will offer a 360-degree view of how to lead health equity initiatives from the hospital, health plan and public health perspectives. It will offer a brief overview of how we got here, including new CMS and Joint Commission health equity requirements, and how to make effective decisions on which SDOH to prioritize using evidence-based and evidence-informed guidance on interventions that will most improve health outcomes.
