Physician & Clinical Relationships
The session aims to explore the transformative journey of clinicians from clinical roles to executive leadership positions. It will highlight the critical competencies and skills that leaders with clinical backgrounds need to be successful in healthcare organizations and provide practical strategies and tools to support them in navigating this transition effectively. Through mentorship, self-reflection and continuous learning, the clinician-turned-leader can become a catalyst for positive change, driving improvements in patient care and organizational performance, financial stewardship and fostering a culture of innovation.
The session will draw from the experiences of established physician and other clinical leaders, offering insights into the challenges and opportunities they encountered along their paths. Using the results of a national survey conducted for the purpose of this study, the presenters will share their findings and key learnings. Attendees will be able to take away a personalized leadership development roadmap, checklist of essential leadership skills and competencies, list of recommended resources and leadership development programs, strategies for building and leveraging a professional network, and access to a support network of peers and mentors. By the end of this session, attendees will be equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to embark on or advance their journey from the bedside to the boardroom.
