For over a century, the American Heart Association (AHA) has been a leader in cardiovascular health. Now, we are transforming patient care through innovative telehealth solutions that enhance access, efficiency, and quality of care. As telehealth becomes an integral part of healthcare delivery, the AHA provides standardized training to equip providers with the skills needed to deliver effective and appropriate virtual care. The American Board of Telehealth (ABT) was founded in 2019 with support from the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust to develop the first national telehealth certificate program. In 2021, ABT management transitioned to the American Heart Association, a global leader in healthcare education and professional training. Today, ABT continues its mission as the AHA Center for Telehealth, advancing telehealth excellence through education and innovation.
